ABOUT RIDEO

Dr Paul Apte has over 35 years experience of laser applications, image processing, control system design and software development. He worked at BT Martlesham labs and the Vulcan laser facility at the Rutherford Appleton laboratory before joining the spin out laser systems company Exitech Ltd as their first employee. There he spent 15 years as the principal systems engineer and was responsible for many new product innovations. He was involved in a number of high profile projects including the development of Deep UV Microlithography tools, laser microvia drilling systems and solar cell scribing tools. After leaving Exitech he setup his own company, Rideo Systems specialising in laser applications, systems development and consultancy. He works with a number of companies advising on complex machine design.

He has a degree in electronic engineering and Physics and a PhD in Applied Physics from Loughborough University.
